contact thousands of the top shareholders in companies facing social
issue resolutions to seek their support. Many institutional shareholders
have told us they would greatly appreciate a source of reliable
information on socially oriented shareholder resolutions. Their
wish has been granted.
Many of the proponents of social issue resolutions do not have
the resources to communicate the merits of their proposals. The
resolutions almost always have significant implications for management
and shareholders. Yet shareholder proponents are limited by law
to 500 words to explain their proposals in company proxy statements.
This limit does not provide adequate space to discuss the implications
of the many complex social and environmental issues presented to
companies each year.
For each selected issue, we will provide the text of the resolution,
a summary of the issue involved, and a more detailed discussion
of the merits of the proposal. We will also provide a contact person
for each proposal if you have further questions.
adrzx.com will provide thoughtful, well-reasoned and
factual arguments in favor of a selected number of pending resolutions.
We certainly have a point of view but we will communicate it to
shareholders in a neutral venue that emphasizes the merits of the
issues.
adrzx.com posts arguments in favor of social issue shareholder
resolutions from a variety of socially responsible investment companies,
and environmental, religious and human rights groups. It is coordinated
by the Corporate Accountability Program of the As You Sow Foundation,
a leader provider of information on social issue resolutions to
institutional and individual shareholders.
